Philips 37PFL9603D: Ambilight flashes in standby

I've only had this TV a few months but a weird thing occurs.

Whether the 'Ambilight' feature is active or not, it flashes sporadically when the TV is in standby. It's quite strange; a short green flash or series of flashes at apparently random intervals from the LED's.

I could live with it but it really scares my young son, who thinks it is like lightning...

Is this a fault or a normal 'feature'? It doesn't seem to affect the use of the TV when it is turned on.

I have the same issue with my TV. I would say it does it sometimes (not all times) some 5 minutes after being turned off (into standby mode).

My TV's model is 55PUS6201
