I have had mine for about 10 days now, and when it is good, it is very very good.

However it has the following faults/characteristics and I wonder if others are experiencing these, or should I ask for a replacement?

    1. "Personal" smart picture setting
When I switch from STB to analogue tuner, or to video, and then switch back to STB it is necessary to manually re-select "Personal". Very aggravating as it is reverting to "Soft" each time.
    2. Volume control
Frequently the TV responds to the remote request for less, or more volume, and then stops responding. I can see the blue led on the TV flickering so it is picking up some command from the remote, but not responding. I can press the remote for 15 seconds, changing aim but no response.
    3. Audio resonances
At mid range volume settings, the wrong material can generate significant resonances in the TV, making the sound very unpleasant. I had planned to get some beefier external speakers anyway but I find this performance very poor.

NE1 else get the same faults/characteristics?

I've not noticed any problems with the "personal" setting - it seems to be retained on all inputs. Also, I haven't experienced any problems changing volume. It takes a while to increase/decrease volume but I haven't noticed it stop responding. As regards "resonances" - I haven't tried the TV particularly loud (as I tend to use an AV amplifier) - but I'll give it a try.

    Press Menu
    go to set up
    go to General
go to OSD -minimal to normal
    TV
    Exit

You get a volume bar on the screen
    :lesson: +
Whatever the set is showing - eg TV or Ext 1 or Ext 2 appears on the left hand side of the top of the screen which is annoying.
This showing can be intermittent-sometimes there -other times disappears.

    OK

    1 - works!
2 - no difference with Ambilight off - and I have tried 2 different remotes - the one that came with the TV and another one that came with my old Philips TV that does seem to be fully compatible
3 - dunno - have to try another one...

Glad I could help on point 1.
On point 2 I'm afraid I can't help any further. There once was a problem, but it seems this is not what is happening in your set.
On point 3 I suggest you contact your dealer or the philips service if you consider it a big problem.

    Good luck.
