Hi everyone,

Here's my first post, so off we go!!

This is my question.

The Philips 37PF9731D/10 will be released in The Netherlands the end of August.
Does anyone know where I can find a review??
Because I don't think that we'll be the first to get it...

The specs are very nice...:

37"
Full HD LCD, 1920 x 1080p
Pixel Plus 3 HD
Clear LCD
Ambilight 3
contrast : 6000:1
Response: 3 ms
True HD LCD W-UXGA Act. matrix
3D-combfilter
Digital Media Reader
HDMI 2x

Thanks in advance!

is that set on Philips official website?
I haven't seen it anywhere on there.

3ms = me very interested in this set.

Take the 3ms with a pinch of salt its prob more like 6 to 8ms and the contrast ratio of 6000:1 is prob more like 1000:1 or 1200:1.

i think peahead is right. 6000:1 contrast is a dynamic value, not the real value.

3 ms response time seems very optimistic to me.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the '7' series and the '8' series?

Have seen the 42PF9831 in a shop and thought it amazing. Am in the market for a 37"er so have been looking out for the release of a 37PF9831. Is that going to happen or should I instead look at the 37PF9731?

Check the 1080 spec very carefully.

"Video formats : 640 x 480i - 1Fh, 640 x 480p - 2Fh, 720 x 576i - 1Fh, 720 x 576p - 2Fh, 1280 x 720p - 3Fh, 1920 x 1080i - 2Fh"

It has a 1080p panel but looks like the electronics can only accept a 1080i input.

Ohh my god, don’t tell me they are using that high value on an S-IPS panel. Over amplification is already very bad, increasing even further just makes it worse.
