We have a new Philips 32PW9616 TV. When we watch DVD and use Tv´s own Dolby Digital decoder, TV show Dolby Digital 3/2, but there is no sound in the rear speakers.
When I use sound setup to HALL, then there is sound in the rear speakers. Then I change back setup to Dolby Digital and after that I can heard fron the real speakers Dolby Digital 3/2 sound.
Suddenly about half or one hour the rear speakers go out. Light go on red.
Then I must change sound setup to HALL (rear speakers light on green) and back Dolby Digital.
I tested rear speakers normal tv sound (HALL) and speakers worked some time and then rear speakers went out.
I have connect rear speakers with wire not wireless system.

OK, I read your question a few times and my conclusion is that either your rear speakers are faulty, or it's the TV. Seeing as it will be easier to obtain a replacement set of speakers I'd try that first and if no joy demand a replacement TV from your dealer. Do not accept a repair etc.
