Sorry if this is an ignorant question but I am about to buy a new DVD player and want to know if my 2 year old TV - a Philips 32PW9527 - can take a prog scan input?
It has pixel plus and a 100 hz option but not sure if it has the right connections?

If not, should I just buy a cheap non prog scan DVD player and upgrade everything in a few years?

I am fancying the Toshiba SD-340 but if I cant use prog scan is it worth it?

If I am stuffed - can anyone recommend a budget player ?

    Hope someone can help.

Check if you have component video connections on the back of the tv (red. green and blue sockets)
If I remember correctly, it does not have them.
Either way Go for the Toshiba sd350 £70e is the cheapest I've seen it (prc direct)
ps no question is daft if you dont know the answer, Good luck !
