Does the Philips 32PF9830 have a digital/freeview tuner? or is it still analogue?

I tried emailing Philips and I've been waiting a week!

    No.

They do have Freeview tuners in some models, but they tend to be of lesser technical merit...Never buy a TV because it has a freeview tuner or more to the point, don't not buy a TV because is doesn't have a freeview tuner!

The 9830 is likely to be the Top Dog in two or three weeks time and should not be ignored because it's Freeview tunerless....

    Cheers Jimmy,

to be honest, I'll prob still go for it - I just didn't want any extra boxes for now, so a nice all in one on the wall would have been perfect.

Jimmy ... Do you have any more specific info on when the 9830 is due? I've backordered my 9830 approx. a month ago and I'm getting "rather impatient" even though I know it shouldn't ship until late july or so!)

I seem to have had better luck with philips - they sent me the official specification sheet for the 9830 showing all its socketry - also has release date on it (27-05-05)
