philips 32PF5520D vs samsung LE32R41BDX

    ...title says it all. Just looking for a show of hands really, looking to spend about £1000, these two came up.

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

    p.s. if I opt for the Samsung, how can I check BEFORE I buy that I don't have the potentially screen tearing version (i.e. do you think the online retailer would check the firmware for me), or do you think all the ones that had this problem are out of the system now?

    Go for the Samsung. I had a choice between the two as well, and after some demoing of both units, decided the Samsung won on all counts. I've decided to wait a month or two to buy because of finances and also wanted to wait for the tearing issue to be sorted, but the Samsung was noticably better.
