Hi guys, about a week ago my philips tv decided to not wanna work, what is happening is, when i switch it on its fine, then after like 5 mins it automatically goes to "EXT 1" then switches back to normal tv, then 2secs later back to EXT 1 repeated every 2 secs I have no idea how to stop this and Curry's are meant to be picking it up tomorrow but will cost £100. Does anybody know a solution before its taking away?

    Cheers
    Focuz. :lease:

    Hi
It sounds like the typical symtoms for a failing painter chip, cost about £130+ to repair.
This fault is common if the set displays A10E on the back of the TV near the model number.

This model is fitted with the A10E chassis and your symptoms are likely caused by the infamous "Painter" IC :thumbsdow
