Repetition, its the only way really, just keep trying. For the cones try not to go to fast, a good consistant speed will suffice as you have 2 seconds between each 'move' to keep the combo going

I second every thing stated above

I also think this thread is a perfect place to brag about finishing PGR3 on Gold last night :) Now onto Platinum :)

Hot laps is all about repeating the lap over and over, also picking a fast car in the class makes a difference.

The advice given on cone challenges is all you need to follow really, once you realise its all about keeping the combo going and not doing anything too fancy those gold targets will seem easy!

Got all golds but I'm short of about 10 Platinums to get the acheivement - all cones & drifts left to do. :(

For Hot Laps - check out race against the clock and it'll tell you what the fastest car for that track is - its not always the one listed at the top of the performance tab.

ok I completed it silver, so I'm missing gold and going straight onto hardcore, problem is how on gods green earth do you actually do it, well the cone races anyway, the first one on silver 1500kudos, however on hardcore its 16000kudos!!!!! any tips hints, or really anything really, because i actually got so angry the other day with this game whilst trying the cone challenge i almost threw the 360 out! (I wouldn't really but i felt like it)! :)

The first cone challenge isn't too bad on platinum. If you make it through every cone gate in good time without dropping the combo then you should get your 16,000 kudos. This isn't true on the other cone challenges though so I gave up after that.

Listen to Pooon. Don't try to go too fast on the cone challenges. You never need anything higher than 3rd gear. So on straights, just coast along in 3rd, feathering the throttle, concentrating on the cone gates.

On all major turns, change down into 2nd as you do as big a slide as possible. I used this method on all cone challenges.

It does get easier. It's definitely a knack thing. It'll just come to you.

managed a 12000k on the first cone challenge. RUF turbo left in second gear.

only broke the combo link once and that was me finished. It's a tough one thats for sure.

That's the hardest thing on Platinum cone challanges, break the combo once and you have to start again. Frustrating.
It probably helps if you've played PGR before. I hadn't so it took me a month of getting to grips to get all Gold. Platinums I'm halfway through. But my bro has all platinums and he'd never played PGR before!

The best advice I can offer for the cone challenges (or any Kudos based task) is to take your time to learn where the cones are all around the circuit, see what moves you need to perform (slides etc) to keep the combo going between gates. For me it was keeping the speeds down, you have quite a bit of time. I used the GT50 with short bursts of throttle to slide etc to complete the game on platinum (was well pleased) just by repeating the same track till I could do a complete lap knowing what I'd do ll the way round. Hope this helps.

Plats are a lot easier on PGR3 than 2, seems they dumbed it down a little. :(

They certainly are. Some platinum cone challenges in PGR3 are easier than some Gold ones in PGR2
