Since we are all seeing problems with this new PG series I thought that it might be useful to track the firmware levels of these new sets to see if Panasonic change the software. The readings taken from my PG30 are:

    Firmware ACQ_V037a1
    TDC_v0.361
    Panasonic EUR07
    V2.020 9/1/2001

If you are interested then please add yours to this posting. To get into the service menu, using the remote set Bass to max, Treble to min and hold down the index button at the same time as you press the minus button on the tv. Press N to exit.

    Thanks
    Steve

My 32PG30 Arrived about 2 weeks ago, with the same Firmware levels as Steve's.

I had an engineer out on Friday to try and fix the NTSC moire pattern, which he almost did, at the expense of the PAL picture which is now very unfocussed.

It's being replaced this Friday (supposedly).

I don't suppose there's an engineers manual for the PG series floating around?

You might try disabling the progressive scan and run 100Hz only. This does appear to remove or minimize the moire' patterning on NTSC.
Hum on my set is non existant - must have one of the lucky ones
