    Hello,

Since it seems to be difficult to find people on Xbox live who are playing PES5,
I thought a list of PES5 player gamertags might be useful.

Im always up for a game so I'll start

    tag = manxspanna

 I was comprehensively beaten though ! I ended up getting a Dreambox thingie to use the PS2 controller, however there is a small lag between button press and action which really plays havoc with my timing.

Looks like it's back to the Xbox pad again

To get rid of the lag you have to press the analogue botton (so that it lights up) when the X-Box is booting up (with the green blob before the X-Box logo pops up) :smashin: .

It's not as bad as it was on PES4 but is still there and you have to give the shoulder buttons a harder press than you normally would to get a response. I didn't think there was any initially but when I tried pressing the analogue at start up the difference was noticable.

Happy for anyone to add me to friends lists, haven't really played much due to my addiction to getting shot by yanks on Far Cry.

Add me guys, always up for a game.

    How's everyone finding PES5?

I've only had it for 3 weeks & only just getting into it, the easy fouls are fricking annoying & the advantage rule is some what inconsistent but apart from that I'm loving it.

Scored a volley from the right hand edge of the area last night on live last night from a left wing over hit cross, now I couldn't have done that in PES4 & to be honest ever be able to pull it off again.

I'm loving it, brilliant game IMO. The advantage rule is actually much more consistent than in 4 but they have done it so that as soon as you pass the ball the advantage goes and it doesn't last that long anyway. I do find that a bit irritating as I played some clown the other night who just fouled me at every opportunity. Most of the fouls were me making breaks and were given as advantage but by the time my player had regained his footing his defense were back! I think he fouled me about 15 times (actual fouls) and at least double that in advantage fouls. I do hate those win at all costs merchants but I must admit it was very satisfying when I beat him after his spawny 1st game victory. I've never heard someone be so gutted over losing a game on live before, it was class!

    Good work Cas.

I know what you mean about these "win at all costs" merchants" personally I stand off a lot more in PES5 as I see no point in continually giving away stupid free kicks, it's like you have to adhere to the rules or get punished/ruin the flow of the game.

Making scoring tougher is also a good challenge, the simple chip/lob over the leeper is harder now for instance.

    Cheers.

I find that a much tougher defense is presented when you don't rush in to tackles and stand off keeping your shape. Basically if you just keep changing player when he passes it and look to cut off available passes then he will either make a mistake or get trapped into a dituation where you can press for a tackle.

I've hardly scored any lobs or chipped through balls down the centre on this game and that was a major supply of goals in PES4.

:D No, you are pretty competetive but not overly so. This guy was basically playing very attacking and he would just foul me as soon as he lost the ball so I couldn't take advantage of the gaps he'd left.
