I was wondering whether the earlier generation Pioneer Plasmas were HD ready. I assumed 720i and HDMI would make them so but wanted it confirmed prior to next year.

    Discovered this on Pioneer.co.uk

“Pioneer strongly supports the EICTA initiative. We are also very happy to say that not only our current line-up of European plasma TVs (Pioneer PDP-435FDE, PDP-435XDE and PDP-505XDE), but even our previous generation models (PDP-434HDE and PDP-504HDE) are already compliant with the EICTA “HD ready” minimum requirements".

If I was the only one thinking about it I'd be surprised. Thank goodness I read up about the future before purchasing. Oh, saw the demo at Dixons or Comets the other day.. Wow!. At thats probably the worse it can be :) .
