The chinese brands tend to have fairly easy region hacks but remember in america multiregion is far less important so american rebranding of such players might mean the region hack is unknown. Best to buy an actual chinese type brand in the states. Also some stuff sold in the states is 120volts only but a lots is dual 120/220 volts. You obviously want the auto/dual voltage type transformer. Then the only thing you'll need when you get back is a shaver plug adaptor rather than a full stepdown transformer.
