Pensions and Taxation Question

Distinguished Member
Does anyone know how taxation on company pensions (not government pensions) work if you choose to live in another country.

Can you have the pension paid to you in that country and pay the applicable income taxes there?

I think it works like this - if I am a UK resident - main home in UK, registered with a UK medical practitioner or has lived in the UK for 6 months out of the last 12 - then I pay tax in the UK. If not I pay tax in the foreign country. If the country does not have a tax agreement I may have to pay tax in both countries.

Just wondering if there is anyone here with first hand experience.
