Moderators : Please move if you feel this is in the wrong section.

Just found this site and have been reading up on progressive scan.

    My current set-up is as follows;

Pioneer PDP-433MXE with PDA-5002 video card
    Pioneer VSA-AX10
    Sony DVP-NS900V
    SKY+

All audio and video switching is done via the VSA-AX10 which is connected to input 2 on the plasma screen via component video (3 x phono).

The SKY+ box is connected to the AMP via component video (Y Pb Pr) using a keene RGB2C converter .

The Sony DVD player is also connected to the AMP via component video cables.

So far I have been very impressed with the picture quality.

I would like to add a PAL/NTSC progressive scan DVD player to this set-up and would be grateful for any recommendations.

What I would like to know is could my system be improved in anyway and what would I need. Also will my plasma and AMP accept both PAL and NTSC progressive scan inputs from a new DVD player.

    Hi,

I'm sure your AX10 wouldn't have a problem switching PAL or NTSC PS. Regarding suitable players, the choice is somewhat limited at the moment. Check out the DVD player forum for info on them including the HK DVD-25 or the new DVD-30. There is also the new Sony 930, and the excellent Pioneer 757Ai is also now available with PAL PS in addition to NTSC PS. Hope this helps.

    Hi miniman

What input methods are you using?

Are you using input2 on the plasma as well?

Interested to know as I'm looking to get the best from my gear!

    Hi

Yes i'm using input 2, I have all the video signals going to a i-scan ultra. I'm using component feed for sky and the 757ai (sky rgb to component via js converter) and i'm using a 4m supra lead d-sub to 3 bnc(from joe at tmf). I love the picture now as in my opinion the ultra made a inprovement with both sky and dvd, also I have a panasonic dvd recorder going to the ultra by s-video and produces good results
