First post in a while so please excuse me if this question has already been covered in-depth elsewhere (I have tried searching). My home cinema setup comprises of the following equiment: Amp, DVD Player, VCR, Projector, & PC (for watching divx movies and listening to MP3s). Recently I took my old palm (a Handera 330) out of retirement and installed Novii Remote B&W with the intention of reducing the number of remotes I have to deal with when sitting down to 'relax' (not so relaxing hunting for the right remote half of the time). My PC is currently controlled by a large Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard (RADIO) which are far from ideal for armchair use. Note: it is a 'regular' PC not a media centre device. Yesterday I discovered the Niveus PC Remote Control and got to thinking how nice it would be to setup Novii to control the PC too. Adding a USB IRDA port to the PC is very easy and cheap (under $10 from eBay). The problem is that there is no remote to 'teach' my PDA from and no software on my PC to know what to do with incoming messages. So my questions are: 1. Has anyone setup Novii to control a PC which did not have a remote already? 2. Can anyone point me towards desktop software which can handle incoming IR commands. 3. Is there any way Novii can 'learn' radio signals? Last week I read an article on teaching the iPod to be a universal remote by recording the 'noise' of remote commands. Is this possible to do with Novii? Thanks in advance.
