PD7200 - thermal safety shut off?

    After running my TV for most of the day on Saturday, I must say the upper back of it was absolutely roasting...I have a shelf installed probably and inch and a half above the panel, there is a fair gap at the back of the shelf but still, not ideal for air circulation.

    Is there a potential for the screen to be damaged by excessive heat? Or do these things generally shut down if they get too hot?

    I'm sure the manual says you should have a minimum 4 inches space all around the screen.
    Heat and electronics are a very poor mix and I'd suggest you do something about it.
    Perhaps a discreet fan if you don't want to move the screen/shelf ????
    Decent air movement would probably do the job.
