    Hey

I'm really sorry to bother everyone but I'll be moving to London soon but where I'll be staying I wont have access to a router close enough for me to link up to my PC (unless I connect an Ethernet cable from down stairs and trail it all the way upstairs which I kind of don't want to do :)) so I've been looking at wireless PCI cards but the ones I have been looking at need a PCI 2.2 socket and I can't find on my motherboard manufactures website if it supports it

I have a ASUS A8N-E motherboard and the PC is pretty new (about 8 months) but only 1 site says that it does support PCI 2.2 (the motherboard has 1 PCI express input and 3 PCI inputs along with 2 AGP inputs) but I was just wondering if all motherboards shipped with it as standard come a certain time like the transition from USB 1.1 to USB 2

I would be grateful for any advice for help with my problem

    Thank you

    looked in the manual ?

or download manual from asus site...

it should say in there .

i doult a board that has pci-e would also have 2 agp slots.

    they proberly more then likely

    pci-e x 16

    pci-e x1 or x2 etc.

    Hey

Thank you very much for getting back to me

I’ve just looked in the manual and its says nothing about PCI 2.2 but I did find out what slots it has, here they are

    3 PCI slots
    1 PCI-E x16 slot
    2 PCI-E x1 slots
    1 PCI-E x4 slot

if you would like more info on the motherboard here is the link to the site

    http://uk.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=455&l1=3&l2=15&l3=171

Also I’m really sorry about the AGP slot, that was my mistake, sorry

Thank you once again for your time

    Thank you

PCI specifications are managed by the PCI SIG (Special Interest group).
PCI 2.2 is quite old (it was follwed by 2.3 and then 3.0).
The Asus board you have will be backwards compatible with 2.2 but will support 2.3 or possibly 3.0 as well.
So yes, the wireless card should be fine in it.
