Are you using YAMJ? For me with YAMJ, it doesn't really matter what else is shown as everything time I switch it on (i.e. from standby) it goes straight into the jukebox :)

    Yet Another Movie Jukebox.

Are you not running a jukebox front end to browse your movie files?

    YouTube - PopcornHour-A110

Then go to the links Andy posted for another couple of hours work. It's worth it though :)

You'll notice that as soon as he selected "HARD DISC" there was no navigating, it went straight to the jukebox - this is what I meant by the other files don't matter :) Before you ask, you don't need an internal HDD to use or install YAMJ :)

I just created a folder called YAMJ on my PC HDD and extracted everything into there i.e download the zip file and extract into the YAMJ folder you created on your PC HDD. It's a bit misleading that step as it's really for people with an internal HDD in their PH, if you don't have an internal HDD just pretend that says 'Create a folder called YAMJ on your PC HDD'.
I'd make sure your files follow the naming convention suggested, makes it easier for YAMJ to find the right info and group together episodes of a series.

    haha:devil::clap:

    Yeah that annoyed me too!

    Ok, here's what you do:

    * Go to The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and find the correct movie title.
    * Copy the address that shows for whatever movie it is. For example, Deception was showing wrong in my YAMJ yesterday, and the correct link is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800240/
    * Open up notepad and paste the correct movie link as described above.
    * Save this document with the EXACT same name as the movie file i.e. if the movie file is Deception.ts then this text file should also be named Deception.
    * Change the file type from .txt (or whatever it is) to .NFO - make sure you have "file extensions" as visible in control panel, under folder options
    * This .NFO file must go in the same directory that the movie file itself is in.
    * Now go into your jukebox folder and delete all of the images/xml file for the incorrect movie ID.
    * Re-run YAMJ

It should now appear properly :)

Have you got your files named according to the suggestions in the wiki, with a year in [] for example etc? I haven't had any issues with movies , it struggled with some music dvds but you can create a .nfo file with a link to a cover for example. See this page:-

    moviejukebox - Google Code

    In particular this section:-

NFO_Files - moviejukebox - How to use .NFO files to enhance MovieJukebox's lookup - Google Code

I was able to easily fix any problem covers by using an NFO file

By the way, when Smurfin said re-run YAMJ that just means double click on My_YAMJ.cmd which will recreate the jukebox folder and index.htm file (sorry if that's obvious but it wasn't to me when I first did this)

An alternative to YAMJ is MLMJ (my lil movie jukebox),

My Lil Movie Jukebox for The Popcorn Hour

The video is a bit long-winded :boring: but you'll get the idea. It contains a lot of cool stuff that YAMJ doesn't have and I preferred the look of it personally. The downside to this is that you need movie colletor software. If you have less than 50 movies you can use the free trial, after that it costs about £50 (unless you can find it for less ;))

I really didn't like MLMJ, a bit like the new Robins skin you can't see much at once and navigation isn't that intuitive. I found movie collector to be a pile of poo really (compared to DVD Profiler) - although that's probably because I'm used to DVD Profiler more than anything else :). I certainly wouldn't pay $50 for it!

    What internetuser said :)

Basically you have YAMJ installed on your PC, and when you configure it you point it to look at the content on the NAS. All of the images are then generated by the app and stored in a jukebox folder on the NAS (with the movie files), along with an index file which basically kicks things off with the front end.

You only need your PC on when you've added new content, as you need to run a command line program to update the jukebox. Works a treat, and no HDD needed inside the PCH :)

Nor would I ;). Yes, DVD profiler is a good program, I used to use it with Xlobby on my HTPC and was very pleased with it. Movie collector is improving all the time but still not yet as good as profiler.

Most people seem to use YAMJ which says alot. I found when I tried it, virtually all the covers were wrong, and what was right was of poor quality. It was also unresponsive & frustrating to use. It must have improved enormously since I tried it. If I wasn't now used to MLMJ I’d definitely give it another go.

I've found the covers are occasionally wrong, but discovered it took 30 seconds to sort it :) The setup of MLMJ and movieflow etc is better, I just find them more cumbersome to use. e.g. I want to see ALL of the genres on screen at once so it's easy to navigate to. I don't find YAMJ slow :)

*EDIT: What an idiot. Sorry, all this time I was talking about Movieflow, not MLMJ  I have no idea what MLMJ is like :D :suicide:

If i stick a hard drive in it ( which is not a problem but obviously generates noise ) will it self update the new content or is the pc still the necessary bit?

Sorry for all the questions.... just got my PCH today and im going to install YAMJ shortly... im assuming it is just a nice frontend which provides information on all my tv series and / or films? Or is it a different skinning system for my PCH ?

You still need the PC to set it up, but not to use it. The PC is needed for installation and updating as and when you add new files to your library.

No problem with the questions, I've asked hundreds to get to a fully working system that I'm happy with :)

Take a look here for details on YAMJ:
