Hi All
Could someone please offer some advice on a tablet I wish to purchase
I went in to PC world on Saturday with the intention of buying a SAMSUNG
Galaxy Tab PRO 12.2" Tablet priced at £399.99 and was quickly informed by
One of the hovering sharks (Sales assistant) that I would be better off buying
A SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Tablet priced at £399.99 because it had a
AMOLED screen, My initial thinking was that I would be better off with the
12.2 inch screen as to the sales assistants recommended 10.5 inch screen
I'm in my 50's so the bigger screen was the main draw for me, I left PC world
Confused and without a tablet, All I wish to do on the tablet if to browse ebay
And online stores like toolmart and write a few emails, so which tablet would
You guys recommend, thanks for any advice.

Google reviews for both models read them all and that should help you decide.

As you've made reference to your age I'm going to assume you have to at least wear reading glasses?

The SuperAMOLED screen on the Tab S 10.5 is a much higher resolution and much sharper technology, this means images and text can appear 'crisper' and easier to read.

While the 12.2 screen sounds better it really is a bit subjective and I would have to advise you to see if there's a Samsung Store anywhere near you, if there is make a visit and ask you see both devices working and have a play for at least 15 minutes with the devices side by side.

Also on a final suggestion if you are going to purchase new rather then second hand (which could make a large saving) then I would suggest John Lewis over PC World every day of the week, they will price match anyone selling cheaper locally who has stock and their service is second to none in my experience, PC World are just commission wh*res I find.

If you went for 2nd hand (but mint and boxed) you could easily save £100 off the £399 retail price.

The TabPro 's have been heavily discounted. There is no need to pay PC World prices. A bit of Googling will find at least £100+ reductions. I think Samsung dropped them when the AMOLED versions appeared. Performance wise they are pretty much the same. As a Pro owner I was pretty annoyed but I love the device itself. Hoping it is on the list to upgrade to Lollipop. John Lewis have discounted, but may no longer have Pro stock.

i agree with Pinnocchio and Mike - look elsewhere, both give good sources.
