As per tiltle.

When i turn my pc off it takes an age to get it to boot again, i have to repeatedly restart to get it to boot.

Had to turn it off a couple of hours ago and now i can't get it to boot.

All fans spin but the cpu fan turns it's self off, there is power to all drives etc.

Any idea's

Do you have some sort of dynamic fan control hardware/software that is ramping down the cpu fan? If you have, seems a bit odd that it is operating without the operating system up and running.

Can you get into the bios settings? Under hardware, you ought to be able to see the various temps round the motherboard. If the cpu overheats, the bios will shut down the system.

Hi.

There is fan control software which i can access through bios.

The pc will boot eventualy, but it takes any where from 10mins to a few hrs.

Temps are fine, and the pc dosen't shut down, just a black screen.

Cheers

It clearly should not take a few hours to boot! Tell us about your hardware and operating system.

When you next have it working, you could try running chkdsk on the c drive or run the error checking utility in the hard drive tools.

Thanks for the help, a change of mobo has sorted the problem but i'd like to fix the problem still.

Are there any programs that check the mobotherboard for errors or hardware failures?

Cheers
