    Hi guys/girls

Im looking at upgrading my pc everything but my GPU and PSU I'm going for the Intel I5 2500k (for overlooking) just need to choose a nice mobo if anyone can throw me a few ideas.

But I was just wondering is USB3 and PCI 3 backward compatible ? As the cases I'm looking at have USB2 ports and USB3 ports that's what makes me think they are different

Also sorry I'm asking loads of questions but is this LCS a nice kit

Yes you can use USB 2.0 devices in a USB 3.0 slot and same for PCI-E 3.0 you can used older GPUs.

Have you read any reviews of the latest 7900 series card from AMD? See link. Basically shows that there is virtually nothing gained by putting the 7970 in a PCI-E 3.0 slot over the 2 slot. I'm sure things will change in a few years though...

Well this is a blow. I am looking at getting the new AMD GPU, my mainboard I'm waiting on delivery only supports PCI 2.0 am I better getting a refund and buying a 3.0?

I would say don't cancel PCI 3 is only in its early stages so you looking at sometime before its really used. I dont think the board I will be getting has PCI 3

    • Much cheaper 2x4GB RAM kits avaiable if colour doesn't matter to you.
    • Go for the Crucial M4 128GB SSD. More reliable.
    • That is a very very expensive PSU, much cheaper ones will do the job just as well.
    • Getting a custom water loop rather than a all in one package will be much better and not a whole lot more expensive.
    • I would be looking to get a Gen3 Z68 motherboard to it is compatible with Ivy Bridge.

    What speakers/headset have you got?
    GPU?
