Pc To Tv

Hey guys! Just wondering of someone out there can give a novice a little advice/info on hooking up my TV to my PC?

I have a Sharp Aquos LC32AD5E 32" LCD TV and recently purchased a VGA cable ob eBay. When it arrived the first thing I noticed was that it only had 14 pins, unlike the advertised and pictured 15 pin cable.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is in terms of performance. Do we need the 15th pin? When do we need it? What does it do?

When i connected the 5 meter 14 pin cable to my TV, everything showed up all green in colour. :thumbsdow

Help much appreciated!

How did i? I know the cable is faulty now after testing it on different monitors and using different resolutions etc. But i still dont know what the difference is between a 14 pin and a 15 pin cable (besides the obvious).

Depends which pin(s); some pins are optional or not always used.
Do a web search for the standard VGA connector pinout and you will see this.
