My goal is to get a ~55" HDTV-ready TV and connect a PC to it. Ideally I'd like to do PIP and have a high enough resolution I can see the PC on one side and TV on another. (Am I dreaming?)

A TV shop recommended the Proscan TV with VGA input (probably because it was a closeout) but it didn't have line doubling and was not wide screen. However, this could not do PIP with another screen.

They said it's possible to get 960x540 with the right equipment into composite connections, but cautioned on getting it right with the right video card and refresh rates....which concerned me.

Any recommendations on TVs that would meet this objective, and tips or articles on how to connect a PC to a HDTV -- suggested TV, right connections, video card, refresh rate?

    What would be the ultimate?

    Thanks.
