PC to plasma crashes on screen ?

Hi there I have a PC in my front room which I sopose you could call it a HTPC. I have it hooked up to my projector, and today I decided to connect my PC to my plasma so the mrs can surf the net + watch movies as she doesnt really like the big screen.

Any way my graphics card on my HTPC is a x1800 with 2 x DVI outputs.

So I have used a convertor and attached a VGA cable from my HTPC to my plasma.

turn on my HTPC and change the channel on my plasma to PC...... All seems good and it starts to show the xp load up on screen, then as soon as its about to move to next level the desktop the plasma says no signal and turns its self in to standby mode.

any ideas what might be wrong ?

set it to vga mode and see if it works. maybe your res is too high or incompatible refresh rate...
