I've got a Toshiba laptop and want to connect to a Loewe 42" plasma and play DVD's (well, VCD's) via the PC to the screen. I get a Windows screen okay on the plasma but when I play the VCD using the DVD software I get the screen okay on the PC but on the plasma I just get a purple box.

    Any clues ?

    Thanks in advance.

You don't say how you're connecting up your plasma screen.

If you're using the TV output from the laptop, the DVD may not appear on this output. You're best to use a VGA output - or monitor output from you laptop. Then you can also change the laptop to use the monitor output as the main display, switching off it's internal one.

    All the best,

    Dr John Sim.
