I want to connect a PC to my CRT in the living room as a temporary measure.

How useable will the PC be? (I primarily, at least intially, want to use it as a jukebox)

Is there any display software they helps the display be more useable or is this not required?

If by CRT you mean TV then pretty hopless, you will just about be able to read text at 640 X 480 using s-video, but it is not poleasant.

Winamp in double size mode will be OK....
