    Hey! :hiya:
I have two soundcards on my PC both with SPDIF, i think that is spelt right.
I believe this is a digital signal and am wondering what lead i will need to connect this to my amp ((probably a budget denon) when I get it) so that I can plug it into the optical slot.
I think that is where it will be going.

Also what connection is best from my DVD -> Amp? coaxial or optical?

    Thanks!
    Robert

    OK here goes

    AUDIO ONLY

PC SPDIF OUT >>>>>> OPTICAL TOSLINK CABLE >>>>>> AV AMP SPDIF IN

DVD PLAYER DIGITAL COAX OUT >>>> DIGITAL COAX CABLE >>>> AV AMP DIGITAl COAX IN

Therefore you need an AV AMP with at least 2 digial INS (1 coax, 1 optical)

    Aye

    Thanks,
so there is a SPDIF In on the amp? is that the Optical Digital In?
(sorry, I don't yet have the amp, getting it in a week probably so want to get it all sorted before i set it up)

coax is best then for carrying the signal between the dvd & amp.
    Thanks again!
