    It won't activate.

When you install XP on a machine you need to activate it within 30 days (after which it fails to operate). Activation involves a check with MS to ensure your copy is only used on one machine.

You can buy an OEM copy of XP home for around £50 - it's not really too much in the grand scheme of things. You'd pay that for a piece of software that does half as much so why not on the main OS?

You already know it's wrong to try and install the same copy on both machines (judging by your previous post) - why look for a way around it?

Stop being so cheap :p ;)

You do know that is not legal and they will class it as theft don't you ?
Microsoft have also blocked some cd-keys from obtaining the latest security patches and so your computer might be vulnerable.
I don't consider £50 for an operating system to be too much money when you consider that my council tax is over £80 per month !

Head to fleabay. You can get (geniune) copies of XP Home for around £20. Pro for slightly more. With XP 64bit coming out prices will become even sharper as 32bit Windows becomes old news.

I read somewhere that the XP license allows you to use it on 2 different PC's, don't know if this is true though.
