    Hi chaps

Hope this is the right forum, but as I only use my PC for e-mail, internet and lotsa gaming I guess I am amongst friends.

I am looking to replace my Voodoo 3 3000 AGP card with a mighty 16MB for something a little meatier without breaking the bank.

I have seen the Creative Geforce 3 T/200 64MB card for £149.00 which is the ballpark figure I am looking for. Is their anything else out there which compares for the price.

I have seen adverts for Geforce 4 cards for less money than this, but don't understand. I would have thought that newer cards would cost more and anyway they were not being released for a few months.

Your suggestions, recommendations and sources will, as always, be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi Shady

The card you have chosen is a safe bet. If you shop around a GeForce 3 Ti200 can be had for as little as £130 check out Scan for some good prices.

As for GeForce4 the reason why its cheaper is because the models released at the moment are the GeForce 4 MX 400 / 440 / 460 versions and retail for about £100 for the MX460.

These models are acctually updated GeForce 2s And the card you mentioned is much much beter. The Geforce 4 MX4xx are actually not fully direct X 8.1 compatible, something to think about.

The Proper GeForce4 will be the best cards availible, but at between £350 - £400 way to expensive

Hope this is of some help

    Paul

LOL, sorry I probably should not bump this thread but I could not help it.

I accidentally pressed the wrong button and fetched the 1st page ever posted in the pc section up back from 2002.

Given the gpu giveaways currently happening, it made me smile that someone was about but buy a geforce 3 for only £150 (or perhaps as little as £130 if they got a good deal)

makes you realise what we consider are poor cards now, are actually pretty kick ass.

Going to lock this one, sorry - it will definitely cause confusion and endless "holy thread resurrection, batman!" quotes.
