PC crashed, copying everything over to laptop = problem!

Hi everyone,

recently my PC crashed, I think I have discovered that the problem is in the graphics card (ive always had trouble with it and the hard disc works in an external caddy). Anyway, I decided to copy everything major on the hard drive over to my laptop for safe keeping and so I can use it again but I'm experiencing some problems.

This was the family PC so I started on the top of the list of the different users and I could access and copy all of the files in one of the accounts but no I've run into some problems, it keeps asking me for permission to access the files etc... I can get round the permission problem by going through each individual file but this takes a lot of time and I want all of my music to be transferred and I have 3,000+ songs on there which I really don't want to do.

Does anyone know a way to get round this? :lease:

cheers

In Vista go to control panel make sure you are in classic view, then user accounts/ go to "turn user accounts on or off" then turn off user account control, this should work for you....let me know. (you have to be an administrator)
