OK, have finally ordered it all, spec as below. Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3Ghz 1333Mhz FSB. Gigabyte P35C-DS3R Motherboard Corsair 550W VX PSU Arctic Cooling 7 Freezer Pro Abit PCI-E Wireless Lan card Samsung OEM SATA DVD ROM in Black, of course. (Everything above Scan, thanks for the free delivery! ) Samsung 500GB SATA HDD I had already and Corsair XMS2 800Mhz DDR2 2x1GB I also already had. XpertVision GeForce 8800 GT 512MB DDR3 £123.10+VAT, cheapest I've seen! NZXT Lexa Blackline Red Case, both from microdirect, who cheekily put the price up by £13 for the case from yesterday to today when I actually ordered, but I guess not much I can do about that and it was still cheaper than most places. Got the memory for an Xmas present and HDD was bought using vouchers from incentive scheme from work so they were 'free'. All in about £525. I could have saved by going for a cheaper case or lower CPU but wanted to 'futureproof' myself as much as possible. I guess the 8800GT will be the bottleneck long before the CPU. Will let you know how the build goes on Mon/Tues/Wed when it all arrives! Shame i didn't get as much as I expected as i really wanted a 8800GTS 512, but beggars can't be choosers! Oh yeah, got a copy of Vista Ultimate 32 Bit to stick on it all. Quick question though, partitioning the HDD, 100GB for Windows, 400GB for everything else? And the case has temp sensors for the LCD on the front, PSU, HDD and CPU I think, I guess the CPU one on top of the heatsink, the HDD one on top of a non moving part of the HDD and the PSU one just on the side?
