    Hi,

I have an old 1998/99 Sony STR-DB925 AV Rec/Amp. When I first got it I recall the DVD intro screens starting at the same time as sound from the amp and layer changes being seamless. Recently, can't really put my finger on the exact time, I noted that the amp disengages on the layer change causing a loss of sound until the amp picks up the signal and reenables DD5.1. Further, with DVDs like Star Wars: Episode I, the intro screen is halfway thru before the amp has decided to play any sound at all, when it starts the typical Star Wars fanfare has already begun.

Is there some setting that I have inadvertently changed?

pretty sure it always did this..

got rid of mine recently, and it always did lose the signal a bit on layer changes... fraction of a second.

can't remember the phantom menace intro, but some discs sound format didn't get recognised for 1-2 seconds.

    Thanks.

Do the newer amps do this too? I'm thinking of replacing this one.

My 925 always did this, with Toshiba and Sony DVD Players.
    Denon next for me.

The 940 does it on the layer change.
