    Hi

Have a Sony DAVS800 with 5 surround speakers & a passive subwoofer. Player is giving up the ghost so in the market for a new Amp & I am a bit of a NOOB on these things.....my question - are there any amps/receivers out there for around £150 / £200 that can use a passive subwoofer ?

    Cheers

I've had exactly the same problem with my Denon DHT system and I was wondering if such an amp exists before I go out and buy a new one of them and a new sub

I think that passive subs are more usually packaged with "All In One" systems. Not sure if any stand-alone amps/receivers can work with them, but I am open to correction :)
