What is the general feeling about the new series of Alan Partridge tonight? I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but even Alan running on half steam is better than most of the other rubbish that's on.
don't worry if the first episode is anything to go by, the series will be as good as the last one. Tonight you'll see Alan go back to his old school to give a talk on being a celeb.
"Back of the net!"
This TLC thing with Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentlemen) before Partridge looks quite funny as well, a sort of english Scrubs from what I can see.

Is it just me, or did TV suck this time last year? Now, there seem to actually be shows on TV that I really want to watch. Granted, only 4 or 5, but it's a start.
On the whole I thought the first episode was good, but not up to previous standards. It could just be that it's suffering from the weight of expectation though, and I've heard the second episode is much better.
Some classic lines, 'I would say she was big-hearted but that would be buuuuuull****' springs to mind and a lot of it was classic Partridge.
Good, and certainly way better than the insipid and predictable 'tlc' that preceded it, but will need to improve during the series to truly out do The Office.
While I was watching, I was trying to remember if the previous series had laugh tracks. But, it was definitely too loud. I missed a couple of jokes because of the laughter, and I was listening with headphones on.
Still, some great lines.
"Fanny hair."
Yeah, TLC was really bad. Cheap jokes, and most could be seen coming a mile away.
Years ago, I was in the audience for one show of 'I'm Alan Partridge', at BBC TV centre. The laughter track was real, cos the whole live audience was in stitches.
I can hear my girlfriend on the programme, giggling as usual.
