My 6-y-o Sharp 66GS-62H is losing the top and bottom 10% of its picture which means that I only see 80% of the picture stretched up the screen.

I would appreciate advice on whether it would be economic to repair the set. Or is it time to invest in LCD ?

    Thanks in advance

This set had a few problems with dry joints and failing capacitors in the frame stage. As far as repairing the set goes.If the picture quality is ok ie the tube is still fine then it is worth getting it done.Should give you a few years yet.

A few years extra would do me nicely so I'll start making enquiries with the local TV repairers.

    Thanks, mechanic, I'm very grateful.
