Does anybody know of any retailers who will take my 10 month old denon AVR-3802 as part exchange for either an AVR-3803 or an AVC-A11SR?.I'd appreciate your input..

The 3802 can be had new now for around £600 so dealer value will be a little less. The very best they might offer you is 1/3 to a 1/2 part exchange value. As such, you would get more by selling your 3802 privately - a few have recently sold on here for between £400 and £450.

Does upgrade by part exchange amount to the same thing as self-improvement? just wondering ..

btw, I may be interested in a s/h 3802. I was interested in a 2802 (for £350 or less) but I am being persuaded that I should wait for the rush of s/h 3802s to hit the street. d'y want to beat the rush?

    [corrected spellies ..]

The average price for a 3802 is about £499 as they are coming to the end of model. Denon are clearing out old stock.
Denonman I may be able to help you out with aggod price on the A11SR as I have a good supply of Denon and other makes now, thru a deal I have done with a dealer. I may be interested in part ex but as was stated earlier you will get more elsewhere, but you never know.
    Hope this helps

But that's daft given new (clearance) prices with warranty. But that's eBay: there's nought as daft as folk ..

Not if the prices that you are asking on Ebay for 3802's are anything to go by although I see that last night's Buy It Now price of £700 plus has come done to a more reasonable level.
