Selling my Parasound HCA1205 5 channel power amp. Well known multichannel HC amp with superb sound and it's a power house. 140 watts and 45 amperes a channel.

These amps have a huge amount of detail in the treble, very nice midrange and very punchy and deep bass. The bass response goes deeper than most other amps due to the DC servo design. (Which is unusual are normally only found on hi end amps like Krells and Classes). There are no caps in the signal path to reduce the low frequency extension, and it also produces a clearer sound in general.

Condition pretty ok for one of these. A few marks but noting serious. Post or pickup.

Price now £330 delivered. £310 collected. ( Originally was £395.)

Hi there. No, no problems with this one. AFAIK these amps don't have cap problems. I had another one in the past ( in much worse condition) that had crackling in some channels but it wasn't the caps. It was the relays getting dirty. Much less of a problem. Easily fixed with a squirt of some WD40...

Anyway this one has no issues.

Have some pics will post later.

Can demo no problem. Amp is at my work office near Marylebone. Got some big Magnepan speakers I can hook it up to....

Thanks fr the pics - I shall have to have a serious think about this because I'm not sure I'm going to be able to accommodate it due to it's depth. I was ideally looking for a Rotel but they are rarer than the proverbial rocking horse dung...

That's certainly one consideration. The chassis is certainly very deep. Threw me a back a bit when I got my first one. It can be harder to acoomodate than other amps. It's not that heavy though, which is handy.

Bit of a low offer but would you take £300 for it? I'm based in Manchester so would have to take you on your word re condition and how well it's sounding

Sorry didn't see this earlier. Yeah that is a bit low. I'd be willing to reduce to £350 including postage. £330 pickup.

P.S Yes the amp works great. Not satified in any way then just send back for a refund.

After a bit more research I see how deep it is and believe it runs quite hot - not sure I can accommodate it without modifying my cabinet so will have to pass.
Having owned Parasound Amps before I would have to say this is a great amp at a great price, am sure someone will snap up the bargain soon enough!

Well it's certainly a deep amp. The power tranny torroid in this amp is huge for a start. Then there are 5 large channel cards.

Yeah Parasounds are good. Don't have a harsh sound but they still sound lively and very punchy and deep in the bass. I have a NAD 208 amp (which is a MOSFET design) and that's very wooly in the bass compared to the much more solid/cinematic sounding Parasound.

I'm actaully selling this to make way for some valve hifi amps for my hifi system. Using HT less these days.

Thanks but that's a bit too low. I could go down to £330 posted, which is a good reduction. I'd take £310 picked up

Sorry 280 is as much as I can go, it's just a temporary option for Atmos speakers and I really need balanced inputs, will leave the offer on the table though

Thanks and I understand, but it not very likely I'm going to accept £280 posted. If you could however raise it a bit, the amp would be yours.
