    Hi Philb,

I've just stumped up for the A52:clap:

I haven't had a chance to hear it yet as I am about to move house and everything is packed away:thumbsdow

All the info I could find suggested that it was an excellent amp with plenty of welly:thumbsup:

As for speakers I think I'm going to go down the PMC route. I hope to hear them set up with my amp first.

I was thinking about GB1+s for the fronts with teh TB2 Center. Having said that I heard the DB1+s and thought they were nearly as good as the GB1+s. So may start out with the DB1+s and think about adding teh GB1+ later.

I upgraded from a 1075 to a Parasound A51, it has a stupid amount of grunt and was a surprising upgrade from the Rotel. They do come up on the classifieds from time to time and can be had for reasonable money so it depending on how urgently you need to replace your Rotel it may pay to wait and see what comes up.

You could have bought a bigger rack with the money I gave you for the S125s!!!!

I would check the fuse rating on the Parasound power amps (it's just a simple unscrew on the back).
Mine blew a few months ago and apparently Parasound have uprated the fuse requirements (at least on the A51). Not a big problem (a few pence to fix) but if you get one you might want to email them to see if it is the right fuse that is fitted.
They are really good at replying to queries by the way.

Never upgraded the C2 software as too chicken!

I've just had the A21 on demo for a week (stereo version of the A51), which is actually even better specced than the A51.

Unfortunately I couldn't get on with it. It was better than my Arcam P35 in a lot of respects (bass response, listenability, dynamics, more natural sound), but was just much too smooth/euphonic for me, and lost too much detail. I just didn't have the 'reach out and touch the music' feeling. With HT duties loss of fine detail wasn't a factor, and the amp was fine.

I really did want to like the amp, and tried different cables, speaker positions, music styles over many hours of comparative listening.Of course every system's different and it's obvious most people love it.

As with any audio gear - demo with YOUR system before you buy. All online/tel sales give you 7 days to return the goods if not satisfied.

Other gear:, Arcam AV8 processor, Arcam C31 Preamp, Arcam P35 power amp, Ruark Prolouge II floorstanders, Meridian G07 CD, SVS PB12+/2

I think that's maybe why Parasound's Halo amps and M and K go together pretty well - the Parasounds are quite laid back and the M and K's pretty bright and revealing.
Having said that, your kit is pretty good as it is!!
