The latest generation of Paradigm’s Monitor speakers will be used to officially launch to the UK market. This is the 7th update of their classic line of loudspeakers and Monitor are hoping that they continues to gather positive feedback and they're also promising them to deliver 'unrivalled performance at its price point'.

The new Monitor Series 7 loudspeakers represent a complete redesign of the line-up, both technologically and aesthetically. While faithfully preserving the natural acoustic signature, trickle-down technology from the Paradigm Reference line ensures critical sonic refinements. The new Monitor Series 7 also offers cleaner, more linear aesthetics with a smaller footprint. Whilst not the Reference speakers, Russell was certainly impressed by the Paradigm Millenia Series he recently tested here

Amongst the technological developments that Paradigm has introduced from its Reference Line to this new iteration are:

· the introduction of S-PAL satin-anodised pure-aluminium dome tweeters and cones
· new high-temperature voice coils (aluminium or copper) wound on Kapton formers
· Large ferrite magnets; with super neodymium magnets in Monitor 11's dedicated midrange driver
· New lightweight foam-rubber surround geometry with exceptional damping properties and much higher excursion capability
· Waveguide design offering improved high-frequency dispersion

To complement these new loudspeakers, the Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12, are the first series of subwoofers designed specifically for use with the Monitor line. All three subs feature internal Ultra-Class D amplifiers delivering 900 watts Dynamic Peak/300 watts RMS Sustained power and boast low frequency extension of 19 Hz (SUB 8), 17 Hz (SUB 10) and 16 Hz (SUB 12) (DIN). The Monitor subs are wireless-ready; simply add Paradigm's PT-2 transmitter (sold separately). They are also compatible with PBK (Paradigm's Perfect Bass Kit) equalization (sold separately), which analyses the subwoofer's response in a room and then sets the correct equalization parameters to obtain optimal sound, even with less-than optimal placement.

‘The Monitor Series 7 is a direct response to the needs of customers today,’ comments Tom Garrett, Technical Sales Manager for the UK distributors, Anthem AV Solutions. ‘It delivers the highest possible performance in the smallest physical envelope while maintaining the important Paradigm affordability difference.’

The Monitor Series 7 is available in Black Ash and a new Heritage Cherry finish. Surrounds are in Black and subwoofers in Black Ash only. They can be purchased in the UK from Anthem AV Solutions and are shipping now. Model line-up and UK MSRPs inc VAT for the series are as follows:
