Recently changed amps from an Arcam Av50 with Ext. decoder to a Yamaha dsp ax620. Changed because the Arcam became faulty with muffled sound from the centre channel and front surrounds. I think the problem may have been caused by the son suddenly turning the amp to full vol. Anyway set up the Yamaha and the surround sounded great but the centre channel still sound muffled (can hardley understand any speech when playing a DVD).

Could the sudden vol change damage the centre speaker? if so anyway of checking/testing it? sounds ok when a sources is played back in 5 channel stereo mode but pants in any other?

Power rating for the Arcam was 50 watts per channel power rating of the CC350 is much higher?
