Has anyone else been disapointed with the picture quality of Plunkett & McCleane (R2)?

On my copy, I get a 'white-ish grainyness' (made up word!) that flashes on the dark areas of the screen (the scene down the sewers or in the woods etc.) the rest of the film is also very 'grainy' at times. I thought mybe my disc was dirty but the extras are fine, just the main feature is crap.

Could it be that its just the film thats filmed in Crap-o-vision as that the end titles (white text, black background) are fine?.

I'm fairly new to DVD & this is my first crappy disc.

    P9.
