Hey everyone, hopefully not a dumb question:
Since getting a component lead from my PS3 into my Panny, I noticed I can force the output of the PS3 to 1080i, 720p and 576p now.
Question is: Am I doing any harm by sending this signal to my SD Panel?
My untrained eyes tell me that the 720p picture is way better than the 576p pic, and the 1080i is even better still!
Am I wrong? I'm assuming the Panasonic is taking the interlaced picture and converting it to progressive scan, is this correct or even possible?
Any comments appreciated.
Oh... the screen will even accept the 1080p output, but then it displays less information, effectively zooming into 75% of the screen.
Test I've done have been with 1080p video trailers as well as PS3 games.
Cheers,
