Which is the better plasma screen?
    Not considering price. Just performance.

    Read the threads around here...
Many of them about Panasonic PQ problems, not many (none?) about PQ problems with the latest Pioneer....
It's not hard to find the answer

The Pioneer 427XD wins over the Panny 42PX600 by a slight margin in terms of design and performance.

Didn't the 6th gen pioneer plasmas screens have some horrible image retention problems? Has this been resolved in the7th gen screens? I'd also be interested in how much better the pioneer is over the panny at is 400ish quid more expensive!

Yes the 6 series did have problems here and there and this is supposed to be resolved in the new series (mine arrives this afternoon)

At the end of the day you need to go and view both and decide which one YOU prefer, the look of the screen itself and also picture and sound quality amongst other things.
