Do you need an amplifier as well? or are you using the built in amplifier of the plasma? Are you wanting surround sound? What sort of budget are you restricted to?

What leigh is telling you there is that with the scart board in particular, you can connect almost any hi fi speakers to the thing, spring clip terminals, and get not too bad stereo out of it. A pair of eltaxes from Richers would do the job for £40 or something, save money now, get decent surround later? Surround sound will be from about £200 to do it properly, Pioneer VSX amp and a 5.1 pack is logical with the scart board, it switches 3 x RGB scart.

Don't forget you will need a Desk Stand (about £120) or Wall mount

If using a Desk stand, then that will need something to sit on also.

And some decent scart leads to connect every thing into your Vivanco (say £20-£40 each)

PS - instead of the scart input board, has anyone tried the JS Scart - VGA box from the Vivanco into the VGA port of the Panny.

personally would go for the js rgb to vga instead of the scart board....the scart board is fine (nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be after reading posts here)..but the JS is better

you need tocheck that the inputs/output are RGB compatible, some cheap scart swicthers arent fully wired internally and dont support RGB i know the B-Tech Quattro and Quintro dont support RGB on all inputs. the Holden and Joytech do IIRC

the js rgb to vga needs a vga to vga cable form the js to teh vga input on the plasma. the vga is standard on panny and means you don't need the scart board...js box is about £120....but doesn't come with vga cable......i've tried £40 van damme vga cable and normal pc qulaity vga cable.......don't see any difference so no need to spend a fortune on one
