Panny Th-42 PE component not picture

I just got a Linn movie DI and the guy was nice enough to give me a HQ component lead. I hooked it up but can get absolutely nothing on the screen. I know the DVD is playing as I hear the music (through my hifi speakers) -the signal is set to blue-component- but no picture...

I did notice that the Linn is pr y pb and the panny y pb pr but I've check and rechecked the colours rgb a hundred times..where am I going wrong???

I have only these two devices as the Linn was a clearout exercise- no vhs, amp, cd, sky etc;-)
