    Evening,

I have a PW6 and recently purchased a Quintro Scart controller and JS VGA to RGB converter, works a treat for Sky+, much better picture. However, I am unable to use the DVD player, I get no picture at all just a flicker of blue when I switch the channels on the Quintro. I have it all connected as follows:

Sky + Scart (TV out) into Quintro scart 2
DVD (AV Scart) into Quintro Scart 3
Quinto TV out Scart into VGA converter

Anyone any ideas/experience of whats happening, my DVD only has the one Scart which says AV.

    Thanks

I had this problem when i connected mine up to the JS box, Your basically using the wrong connections on the Quintro, I had lost my manual so called AV sales who steered me in the right direction, so have a read of ur manual i think i use the 2 & 3 inputs furthest from the TV out connection, the one next to the TV one is for Video in/out if i recall.

Thanks, according to the manual the Scarts are:

    2) Input RGB/S Video for Sat
    3) Input RGB/S Video for DVD
    4) Input and Output RGB S-Video for VCR
    1) Input and Output RGB/S-Video for VCR
    TV Output RGB/S video

So I plugged the Sky box into 2 (works fine) and DVD into 3. Both of these are furthest away from the TV output scart. I have tried the DVD scart into all sockets but just cannot get a signal.

I'm sure its nothing to do with this but could it be because the DVD only has 1 Scart (AV), does this need to go via the Sky + box?? Please help!

Baldie try either 1 or 4 I.m using both with my Panasonic DVD recorder and it works fine

Checked the Quintro manual and I would say use scart 4 socket as thats RGB input

Thanks Mike, it was getting late last night but pretty sure I tried every connection possible. I'll give it another go this evening. In theory though, forgetting the sky connection, the Quintro TV Out scart goes into the JS VGA converter and then the DVD scart goes from the DVD into one of the scarts on the Quintro 1-4, surely it can't fail??

input 1 on the Quintro does not switch RGB, it's composite only

sounds like your problem is no RGB out of the dvd player

I reckon that no RGB scart on the DVD could be the answer, not got a clue if it supports it or not though. Will have to dig out the manual. If it doesn't then where do I go, am a bit annoyed at my own stupidity for paying out for a Quintro and js vga converter and then finding that it doesn't work. Is there such a thing as a simple adaptor that I can plug into the DVD that will then convert it to RGB?

Thanks for the advice guys, read the DVD manual and found that you can change the scart setting to output RGB, works a treat now.
