i saw the 42 pv500 and i have one thing to ask what on earth was panasonic thinking when the design this monster?it's so ugly i wouldn't have that in my living room it's! now i really think that panasonic is ripping off its customer first of all it's the price and its design. the price is at the moment in john lewis £3000 with a 5 yr warranty not bad allot of people would say but for an extra 200-500 pounds you can get a 50 inch which in my eyes is allot better picture quality this will break your hearts in the long run, you'll hate trust me.it's just cheap and nasty don't waste your money there are better plasmas out there. there is the pioneer xde i would now consider than he panny, can any one tell me why the pc connection is located on the front of the panny?

I just looked on the John Lewis web site and the PV500 is nowhere to be found - are you sure you have the right TV??

Last year's PE30 has the VGA connector on the front under the flap, the current PV500 has the VGA connector located on the back.

just wait till you see it in the flesh, i just feel for the price panasonic have cut corners on this tv design is very important, price play a big factor on what people want to buy and i can't think why anyone would want to waste 3K on this

I have and do, as i have one sitting in my bedroom, PureClass! better PQ than my 32" CRT and two 19" LCD's, The sound is just exceptional and the design is ultramodern.

And it rather sounds like you want a screen to hang on your wall and not switch on! if that's the case get a shell made to look like one at about £200.00, you could even put glass in it!

    lol

So are you still slagging off the PE30 or have you moved onto the PV500? I really can't understand peoples' mentality that "if I don't like the aesthetics of a product then no one else should". Please don't assume that the rest of the UK's population has to have the same opinions as you. :lease:

I really love the design of my PE30 but I don't badger people about it.

Both the pe30 and its younger brother are visons of beauty both turned on and off.
If your not a fan , dont buy one ;) theres plenty of people out there who have and will :D

I actually did not know that the new Vieras VGA input was at the back, I am glad panasonic have got this sorted out now as a cable sticking out the front of the Veira is hardly MRS friendly

You keep going on about the price but the 42" can be had for a lot less than the £3K you've quoted if you shop around and as far as I know John Lewis have not yet officially announced any prices as yet. Give it a couple of months and you should be able to get the 42" for around the £2K mark, hopefully less.

You claim youve seen the tv then state the pc input is on the front when it isnt, you also say you would never own one without any mention of picture quality  Have you been on the splifs :rotfl:

I've been look at the 42PE50 and compared to the PE30 it looks cheap IMO but I did see it run along side the Pioneer 435 FDE and the Panasonic was defo better.
I'm waiting to see a PV500 in the flesh and hope it'snot as cheap looking as the PE50.

Ugly? again your opinion, not necissarily anyone else's.
Expensive at £3k? The following website suggests £2,250 is closer to the actual selling price.
