Panny PQ and length

    I keep reading 3hrs full res from the Panny - surely this is the FR mode, which What Video & TV claim as SVHS quality? (i.e. 400 lines, not 500),
    All long rec modes, drop res to 1/2, i.e. 250 lines. :lesson:
    With Pioneer you do get 3/4 res in manual step mode up til 3 1/2hrs, whereas other recorders drop to 1/2 res after SP mode.

    A dealer I visited recently claimed that the Philips offered best PQ, followed by the Pioneer, and then Panasonic.
    When questioned, he said that the Panasonic did not offer best PQ, compared to the other brands he sold. :p

    Do Panny owners proudly wear IMHO badges? :devil:
