Got my new Panny 42PW6 today, but when I opened the box I discovered the glass inside the plasma was shattered
There was no visible damage to the box it came in.

This must be a plasma owner’s worst nightmare
I hope I get a new one soon.

Those cabinets are available at most contemporary furniture shops - modular in design and configurable (you can also specify a plasma wall upstand) - prices vary depending on brand.

    Hey rags

Lizzard is from Sweden, and they usually say things that don't make sense (we all know the Swedish chef)

They envy Norwegians for our way of living, but they won't admit it. But Norwegians love Swedish people and all the nice stuff they make (meatballs, Volvo, Ikea and Absolut) :D

The cabinet is from a Swedish furniture store called R.O.O.M

Sorry to hear about your plasma - I'm interested to know - why did you chose silver instead of Black/charcoal?

    THanks!

    I like the silver better.
I've also got the B&W VM1 speakers in silver.

Believe I've seen similar in London's Amazing Emporium or Red Cloud or at least one of the posh furniture stores.

Also try FCI near Hanger Lane in London. They do all the relevant makes of furniture - Verardo (do a very nice AV cabinet system), Hulsta, Pressotto, Mobileffe and so on. Not cheap though.

Roger, I feel for you. I put my Pio Mxe up on the wall over the bank holiday weekend and I've broken into a sweat on a few occasions since just thinking of it falling off before I get it specifically covered by my home insurance.

Hopefully you'll get a new one (who's responsible though, the carrier or the people you bought from?).

Out of interest, what happens to the old one? Can the screen be repaired or is it now a bin job?

I ordered mine today, that is a real downer. If mine arrives tomorrow in that condition I will not be pleased.

    Actually i didn't write correct.

I didn't mean it was a nightmare to live in Norway but it must be a nightmare when you ordered it from U.K and everything and now you must return it.

I bought the unit from AV-Sales.co.uk, and they replaced the broken 42PW6 right away :)
A new one is on its way, this time strapped to a pallet.

AV-Sales are taking care of the broken one, and the insurance claim. Thanks to Claire, Andrew, Angeline and Liam at AV-Sales for excellent service !

    Think that's a tragedy?

My friend's dumb cousin bought a brand new NEC plasma. Instead of buying a proper wall bracket, they decided to hang it on the wall using coat hooks!!!!!!!

    You guess the rest! :suicide:
